Use iwd instead of wpa-supplicant for CLI WiFi control
If you want to interactively scan for and join wireless networks on Linux, you should install iwd instead of wpa-supplicant. Then you can use iwctl, with the following commands:
device liststation <device> scanto scan for networksstation <device> get-networksto view the list of networksstation <device> connect <ssid>to join a networkstation <device> connect-hidden <ssid>to join a hidden network
This is handy on old laptops that can't run modern desktops (e.g. netbooks).
